What is Micro Blogging?

Micro-blogging is a new form of multimedia blogging that allows users to send brief text updates (Eg: 140 characters or fewer) or mini posts such as photos or audio clips and publish them. There are more than 100 micro blogging tools such as Plurk, Kwippy, Jaiku etc but the most famous microblogging service is Twitter.

Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service, that allows its users to send and read other users’ updates (otherwise known as tweets), which are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length.
