Textorizer: Create Vector Images Made of Words

Welcome back!

Textorizer takes an image(a raster image) in gif, png or jpeg format, detects its edges using a filter and replaces them with a specified text. Textorizer thus converts images into vector drawings of words. The output image is in SVG format which can be viewed in any browser or by using the Adobe SVG plugin.

How can I customise my Textorized image?

Textorizer lets you:

  • enter many lines of text which are used in turn
  • decide number of lines or strokes
  • select threshold edge detection accuracy
  • decide size of output image in pixels

We textorized an image using “Threetips” as the text. Here are the results:
