About Nico has created a Google Analytics Reporting Suite which runs on Adobe AIR. I’ve been using this for over 6 months now and haven’t bothered logging into the Google Analytics web interface ever since!

Everybody loves Google Docs, and with Google coming up with new features almost every other day, Google Docs is becoming even more lovable. One such lovable feature of Google Docs is the option to post a document directly to your blog.

Google Docs is capable of doing almost everything that common word processors do, so it lets you post your documents to your blog (like Microsoft Office 2007 does) with far greater ease and flexibility.

Setting up Google Docs to Publish Blog Posts

1. Open the document you want to publish and Click on the Share button (deliberately made conspicuous in a blue attire, as sharing is one of the key features of Google Docs) on the top right corner of the screen. Once there click on ‘Publish as web page’.

2. When you click on ‘Publish as web page’ a publish this document page appears which lets you to:

- let Google generate a link for your document

- Publish your document to your blog

Here click on ‘Set your blog site settings‘ link to configure your post settings

3. In the pop-up that opens, configure the settings for your blog where you want to post the document.

These configurations allow you to:

- Post to a hosted provider like Blogger, LiveJournal, WordPress.com

- Post to your own server or custom domain

For WordPress, select ‘My own server/custom’ and ‘MovableType API’ in API and enter the URL, username, password and the blog ID where you want to post the document. Once you are done, simply click the ‘Post to Blog’ button and the post will be published right away.

Benefits of using Google Docs:

There are several benefits of using Google Docs to post to your blog like:

Using Google Docs as a blog publishing tool(or using any blog publishing tool for that matter) allows you to have an external back-up of your blog posts to be used in emergencies

Google Docs allows multiple users to Share, View and Edit a document thus making collaborative blogging really simple

Everything Google is usually nice, free and easy to use(and searching for long lost posts is so easy and efficient). You don’t need to worry about storage space too!

So go ahead, give Google Docs a chance to impress you as it impressed me and comment and let me know about your experience!
